We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Chief Operating Officer (COO) to join our executive team at a leading technology company based in Lisbon, Portugal. As the COO, you will be responsible for overseeing our company's ongoing operations and procedures, driving operational excellence, and ensuring alignment with our strategic goals. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, operational expertise, and a deep understanding of the tech industry. This is a confidential search for a pivotal role within the organization, which currently employs around 500 Full-Time Employees (FTEs).

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement operational strategies that support the company's overall business objectives.
  • Oversee daily operations of the company and the work of executives (IT, Marketing, Sales, Finance, etc.).
  • Design and implement business operations frameworks, policies, and procedures.
  • Lead the company in ways that encourage maximum performance and dedication.
  • Manage relationships with partners, vendors, and other stakeholders.
  • Drive company results from both an operational and financial perspective.
  • Set comprehensive goals for performance and growth, and establish policies that promote company culture and vision.
  • Evaluate performance by analyzing and interpreting data and metrics.
  • Ensure effective recruitment, onboarding, professional development, performance management, and retention.
  • Prepare and present operational reports to the CEO and other executive leaders.
  • Maintain and enhance the operational excellence and efficiency of the company.
  • Job Requirements

  • Proven experience as Chief Operating Officer or relevant role in a tech company. (10-15 years)
  • Demonstrable competency in strategic planning and business development.
  • Working knowledge of data analysis and performance/operation metrics.
  • Strong understanding of corporate finance and performance management principles.
  • Familiarity with diverse business functions such as marketing, PR, sales, etc.
  • Outstanding organizational and leadership abilities.
  • Excellent interpersonal and public speaking skills.
  • Aptitude in decision-making and problem-solving.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-stakes environment.
  • Required Education

    Master’s degree in STEM subjects (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) or a related field Preferred.

    Languages

    Proficiency in both Portuguese and English is mandatory.
