Senior Business Marketing Manager - Europe

The Senior Business Marketing Manager is the local marketing expert and owns the European category P&L’s. In this role you are a member of the European Management Team and represent the European downstream function both locally and internationally.


· Creates the European marketing plan based on Business Plan consolidation of the different sub-categories by market, with clear priorities of Where to Play & How to Win

· Aligns with cross-functions on the initiatives and enablers of the marketing plan (eg. Shopper marketing, Integrated Performance Marketing, Product Marketing, Sales)

· Manages 4P strategy for all categories on European level as well as their own key markets and translates this together with the commercial triangle into execution plans.

· Drives the sub-category new product launch critical path and Activation calendar for overall Europe and their own key markets, ensuring sustainable delivery on Growth objectives

· Responsible to define the promotional plan as part of the marketing activation plan, understanding the ratio of promo-rate vs P&L

· Portfolio management, including SKU optimization, PLC and competition analysis

· Closely monitors the EU market share development and acts upon trends with high sense of ownership and urgency – performance analysis and proposes actions for improvements

· Works seamlessly with the Upstream International Product Marketing team to ensure the roadmap delivers on local market needs and supports the Growth Ambitions and targets

· First point of contact for the sub-categories in the European commercial organization

· Ensures product Launches and deliverables are carried out in time

· Together with end-to-end commercial and functional stakeholders drives operational excellence for European markets to ensure delivery on growth ambitions and address R&R detractors

· Improves the Consumer Experience through R&R analytics in partnership with cross functions

· Improves profitability across the lines of the P&L of the different categories

· Responsible for defining and implementing pricing strategies for the sub-categories that maximize financial objectives as well as optimizing competitive position in the marketing place

· Seamlessly cooperates with the International Product Marketing Team, who is responsible for International Portfolio strategy and long-term product portfolio and innovation roadmap

· Ensures the portfolio and roadmap (incl. R&R) is tailored to local market needs and supports the company Targets and Growth ambitions

· Drives strategic marketing projects & quality improvement on the company on a European level with local commercial teams and functional representatives, eg. category vision, problem solving, daily management

· Supports the Commercial Leader and GM for high quality input for annual and quarterly business planning, such as Plan, Financial updates, 3yr Planning, etc.

Job Requirements

· 15+ years of professional experience, specialized in downstream marketing capabilities

· Able to understand how to translate consumer and market needs into marketing mix development and drives the go-to-market strategy setting

· Strong Analytical capabilities and curiosity. Commercial and Business Savvy, able to think conceptual and strategic, while hands-on executor

· Strong influential skills and ability to rally the organization behind your Sub-category ambitions

· Change leadership/management, Impacting and Inspiring Communicator, Interpersonal/collaborative skills across markets, functions & cultures

· Servant People Leader and Coach

· Experience in international fast-paced and hands-on environments

· Experience in projects ownership and driving the full product execution, co-working with cross-functional, multi-cultural teams

· Demonstrated experience and skills in Performance measurement, Marketing Mix Optimization

· Seniority to drive projects and a business independently

· FMCG and / or Consumer Goods experience

· Management of team of high performing specialists

· Management of projects within budget and on time

· Strong problem-solving skills

· Proactive approach to seeking out and sharing information

· Oral and written communication with impact

· Ability to organize and prioritize multiple dynamic tasks

Required Education

Bachelor's Degree required, Master's preferred


Fluent in English is a must, additional languages are a plus
