We are seeking a highly experienced and strategic Chief Investment Officer (CIO) to lead the investment strategy and portfolio management of a prominent, international family office. This hybrid role is based in the beautiful Côte d’Azur, with flexible remote working arrangements. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preserving and growing the family’s wealth across asset classes, ensuring risk-adjusted returns aligned with long-term objectives and family values.
The CIO will report directly to the family principals and work closely with external advisors, private banks, legal/tax consultants, and internal staff to oversee and coordinate all investment activities globally.
Responsibilities
Develop and execute a comprehensive, multi-asset investment strategy tailored to the family’s risk profile, liquidity needs, and long-term goals.Oversee asset allocation across public equities, fixed income, private equity, real estate, venture capital, hedge funds, and other alternative investments.Evaluate and select investment managers, funds, and direct investment opportunities.Conduct ongoing portfolio monitoring, performance reporting, and risk management.Provide quarterly and annual investment reviews and strategic insights to the principals.Lead due diligence processes on new investments or divestments.Ensure compliance with relevant regulations, tax considerations, and reporting obligations.Collaborate with legal, tax, and estate planning advisors to align investment activities with overall wealth structuring.Stay abreast of global market trends, geopolitical developments, and emerging opportunities.Represent the family office with discretion, integrity, and professionalism in all external engagements.
Job Requirements
Minimum 10+ years of experience in investment management, private banking, asset management, or within another family office.Strong track record in multi-asset portfolio management with demonstrated returns and risk discipline.Deep understanding of global markets, asset classes, and macroeconomic factors.Familiarity with both traditional and alternative investments, including direct deals.Experience working with or advising ultra-high-net-worth individuals or families.Exceptional analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills.Discreet, trustworthy, and able to handle confidential information with the utmost integrity.Comfortable working in a small, dynamic, and international team setting.Flexibility to travel as needed.
Required Education
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business, or a related field (required)
MBA, CFA Charterholder, or other relevant postgraduate qualifications (strongly preferred)
Languages
English: Fluent (required)
French, Russian, or German: Highly appreciated and considered a strong asset
