The Head of Merchandising, EMEA will be a strategic and commercially driven leader responsible for defining and executing the regional merchandising strategy across all product categories for a luxury fashion brand. Working closely with global merchandising, design, supply chain, retail, wholesale, and e-commerce teams, this role will ensure that product assortments, pricing, and lifecycle management are fully aligned with the brand’s creative vision, commercial objectives, and regional market dynamics.
This role combines high-level strategic leadership with hands-on execution. The Head of Merchandising, EMEA will optimize performance across channels while preserving the brand’s luxury positioning, creativity, and exclusivity. The successful candidate will thrive in a fast-paced, matrixed international environment and act as a key partner to senior leadership on growth, profitability, and market expansion initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Define and execute the EMEA merchandising strategy in alignment with global brand vision and financial objectives- Own regional assortment planning, buy strategies, and product lifecycle management across retail, wholesale, and digital channels- Act as a strategic partner to global merchandising, design, and product development teams, providing regional market insight and commercial guidance- Lead seasonal line reviews, assortment frameworks, and buy sign-offs to maximize full-price sell-through and margin- Oversee regional pricing architecture, markdown strategies, and profitability optimization- Analyze sales performance, market trends, and consumer insights to inform assortment and inventory decisions- Drive demand planning in close collaboration with supply chain and operations to balance availability, exclusivity, and stock efficiencyJob Requirements
- 10+ years of progressive experience in merchandising, with senior leadership experience in a luxury fashion or premium lifestyle brand- Proven track record of managing complex regional assortments across multiple channels and markets- Strong commercial acumen with deep understanding of luxury consumer behavior and market dynamics in EMEA-Experience partnering closely with creative, design, and product teams while balancing brand integrity and commercial performance- Demonstrated leadership capability with experience building and managing high-performing teams- Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate data into clear strategic actions- Comfort operating in a global, matrixed organization with multiple stakeholders- Excellent judgment, communication, and influence skills- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment with a hands-on, solution-oriented approach
Required Education
Bachelor’s degree in Fashion Merchandising, Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field required; Master’s degree or MBA is a strong plus.
Languages
Fluency in English required. Fluency in French or Italian is strongly preferred. Additional European languages are a significant advantage.
