The Head of E-Commerce will be a strategic and commercially driven leader responsible for defining and executing the global digital commerce strategy for a luxury fashion brand. This role will oversee all aspects of the brand’s direct-to-consumer online business, ensuring that the digital experience reflects the brand’s luxury positioning while driving sustainable revenue growth, customer acquisition, and long-term client engagement.

Working closely with digital marketing, merchandising, retail, technology, creative, logistics, and customer experience teams, the Head of E-Commerce will lead the development of a world-class digital flagship that seamlessly integrates brand storytelling, product presentation, and service excellence. The role requires a balance of strategic vision, operational rigor, and deep understanding of luxury consumer behavior in the digital environment.

This position combines high-level leadership with hands-on execution. The Head of E-Commerce will optimize performance across global markets while preserving the brand’s exclusivity, creativity, and premium client experience. The successful candidate will thrive in a fast-paced, matrixed international organization and serve as a key partner to senior leadership on digital growth, innovation, and omnichannel development initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Define and execute the global e-commerce strategy in alignment with the brand’s creative vision and commercial objectives
  • Own the performance of the direct-to-consumer online business, including revenue growth, profitability, conversion, and client engagement
  • Lead the development and optimization of the brand’s digital flagship across desktop and mobile platforms
  • Partner closely with merchandising teams to ensure compelling online assortments, product launches, and seasonal storytelling
  • Collaborate with digital marketing teams on acquisition, retention, CRM, and performance marketing initiatives to drive qualified traffic and customer lifetime value
  • Oversee digital merchandising, site optimization, and content strategy to enhance the luxury online experience
  • Manage the e-commerce trading calendar including product launches, campaigns, promotions, and seasonal activations
  • Drive performance analysis across key KPIs including conversion, AOV, traffic, and client behaviour to inform strategic decisions
  • Job Requirements

  • 10+ years of progressive experience in e-commerce, digital commerce, or digital business leadership within a luxury fashion, premium retail, or lifestyle brand
  • Proven track record of scaling and managing high-performing direct-to-consumer digital businesses
  • Strong understanding of luxury consumer behavior and expectations in digital environments
  • Deep experience with e-commerce platforms, digital analytics, online merchandising, and performance optimization
  • Experience partnering cross-functionally with marketing, merchandising, technology, and retail teams
  • Demonstrated leadership capability with experience building and managing high-performing digital teams
  • Strong analytical and commercial mindset with the ability to translate data into strategic actions
  • Experience operating in a global, matrixed organization with multiple stakeholders
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and influence skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment with a hands-on, solution-oriented approach
  • Required Education

    Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Digital Commerce, or a related field required; Master’s degree or MBA is strongly preferred.

    Languages

    Fluency in English required. Fluency in French or Italian is strongly preferred. Additional European or Asian languages are a strong advantage.
